ABSTRACT
The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between the favoritism behaviors exhibited in school management and the level of teachers' work alienation. The universe of the research conducted in the relational survey model consists of 209 primary schools in Siirt city center and Kurtalan, Baykan and Şirvan districts in the 2019-2020 academic year and 1393 teachers working in these primary schools. The sample of the study consists of 409 teachers selected using the stratified sampling method. "Favoritism Scale in School Management" and "Work Alienation Scale" were used in the study. As a result of the research, it was determined that the perception levels of teachers regarding the favoritism exhibited by the school administration were low, and in addition, the teachers' work alienation levels were also low. The correlation values between both variables were found to be positive and moderate. As a result of the regression analysis, the evaluation sub-dimension of favoritism in school management significantly predicts the general alienation from work and the sub-dimensions of weakening, meaninglessness and self-alienation. In summary, it was determined that favoritism in school administration explained 37% of the total variance of teachers' work alienation.
