It is a fact that there is limited knowledge, studies and researches related with district directorate of national education that is because of academicians’ disinterest of so called topics. To map this gap it is aimed to investigate the problems that directors face with, what steps they try to follow for better education and projects of personal improvement are tried to be evaluated acroos the study. Directors of seven districts in Düzce have contributed to study. Data were gathered via interview form of qualitative research method and three basic questions were asked to directors in order to reveal research aim. Content analyses were applied to data and point of wievs’ of directorates were categorised under appearing headings. Following problems were appeared after interviewed with directors that economic, human resource and bureaucratic problems are voiced in the study. Directors stated that they try to communicate with educators, stakeholders and other isntitutions in order to improve outcome of educations in their district. Finally they alleged that they seek opportunity to particapate post graduate education about eduactional administration, follow up seminars and in service trainings. It was concluded that what directors are complaint about central or superior authorities as bureaucracies is somewhat presented to schools and teachers by themselves.
