The main purpose of this research is to determine the opinions of school administrators about the school development model project. The study group of the research based on the phenomenological model consists of 20 school administrators working in Siirt Province. A semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher was applied to the group determined in accordance with the volunteering principle. A literature review was conducted on the school development model before the interview form was applied. Afterwards, open-ended questions were prepared. Opinions of the experts were taken regarding the suitability of the questions to the participants. As a result of criticism and suggestions from experts, the final form of the form was applied to the participants. The data obtained from the semi-structured interview form were subjected to content analysis. The data subjected to content analysis were arranged and interpreted in association with the themes by the researcher. Themes were created using the category creation method. After all these processes, the researcher analyzed the codes in the code list he created using SPSS 22 package program. As a result of the research, while school administrators define the school development model, they emphasized physical conditions and planned school development. Sharing and collaboration were observed among the objectives of the school development model. The model has many positive aspects towards being an effective school. Among the positive aspects of the school development model, it is stated that the school is evaluated as a whole and contributes to student profiles. At the same time, it is concluded that the school development model is an effective project in terms of seeing the shortcomings of the school, increasing student success, providing information about the teacher potential and making the right decisions about the future. Based on the results of the research, various suggestions about the school development model are presented.
