The main purpose of this research is to determine the perceptions of teacher candidates regarding the concept of Generation Z through metaphors. The study group of the study, in which the qualitative research method was used, consists of 340 participants studying at the Faculty of Education in Siirt University in the 2022-2023 academic year. An open-ended questionnaire developed by the researchers was applied to the participants, who were reached through the easily accessible sampling method. The open-ended questionnaire form consists of two parts. The demographic information of the participants is included in the first part of the form, in which expert opinion was taken. In the second part, the participants were asked to complete the statement that is “Generation Z is similar to.....Because…….". The data obtained from this expression were subjected to content analysis. The MAXQDA program was used for the analysis. As a result of the research, the opinions of the participants on the concept of generation Z were collected in nine categories. These are the innovative generation, the high awareness generation, the purposeless generation, the diverse generation, the digital generation, the driven generation, the self-centered generation, the mysterious generation, and the hopeless generation. 62 metaphors in the innovative generation category, 57 metaphors in the high awareness generation, 49 metaphors in the purposeless generation, 38 metaphors in the diversity generation, 38 metaphors in the digital generation, 32 metaphors in the driven generation, 26 metaphors in the self-centered generation, 24 metaphors in the mysterious generation, and 14 metaphors in the hopeless generation, were created. Based on these results obtained from the research, quantitative studies can be done and teachers' opinions can be taken.
